AAA – The Ellipse

Every semester, a new Internal Relations Committee is formed, and with new “parents” come new families. This semester, IRC Family Night took place in none other than Dwinelle Hall on Friday, February 5^th.  The main lobby was crowded with AAA members trying to decide which family they wanted to join based on the parents’ mini biography, holiday-based party theme, or enthusiastic attempts to attract potential children. Decisions, Decisions!!! AAA members were then separated into different rooms to meet their parents and enjoy a free dinner while mingling with their new brothers and sisters. BANG, the fun, yet inevitable, icebreaker was played so that individuals would not only learn each other’s names, but feel more comfortable around each other.

But more decisions were to be made that night!  Each family had to decide on a name, color, and chant that would show off their family pride. If you thought your family was crazy… guess again. Jessica Chin and Eric Pang contributed their surnames to form the clever portmanteau CHINPANGZEE for their family name; Chris Chen and Evan Kim chose the witty name ERIC SHIN; Cynthia Young and Norman Lee restricted minors from seeing their NC-17 family; the trio of Cynthia Sun, Stephanie Cheok, and Nathan Yan summed up their relationship in their family name, PANDAMONIA, while another trio, Sherry Liao, Nicole Gunadi, and Micca de Joya, enjoyed some SNM action; and last, but not least,  Bing Lin, Frank Lin, and Jennifer Lai formed the final trio, or should I say TRIFECTA: TITS, ASS, and LIPS.

IRC Chair, Josh Siu, a.k.a Grandpa, ended the night with a massive, hectic Cinnamon Roll resulting in phones falling out, shoes falling off, feet being stepped on, and most importantly, AAA’s Spring 2010 families being made.
