AAA – The Ellipse

On February 11^th 2010, AAA’s Cabinet hosted the Spring 2010 Beginning of Semester Banquet. All of the committees from AAA crowded the stage so graciously provided to them by Sun Hong Kong in anticipation of the exciting skits to come. Andrew Fung, chair of SoComm Fall ’05, AAA Secretary Spring ’06, and AAA President Spring ’08, was one of the many AAA alumni in attendance and the main guest speaker before the committees performed their skits. He gave a very funny, yet insightful, speech regarding why he had decided to join AAA while he was in college and how it provided him with lasting memories.

After Andrew’s speech, all the committees were buzzing with energy, awaiting their respective turns to perform the skits on which they had worked so diligently. First up to perform was Devo; they danced to the hit single from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack, “Jai Ho”. Issues then performed a hilarious reenactment of American Idol with various members of their committee singing. CS, headed by theirever so happy-go-lucky chair, Terrence Zhao, proceeded to dance and sing along to a remix of “TikTok” by Kesha. Up next was HC; they performed parodies of the other committees and finished their performance off by dancing to the Girls’ Generation song “Gee”. SoComm performed a skit where they impersonated actors from a variety of different movies such as Titanicand Harry Potter. PR danced to one of the most famous Taeyang songs, “Wedding Dress”. Techno did a great remix of Miley Cyrus’s “Party in the USA”, replacing “USA” with “AAA”! Last, but not least, IRC performed a hilarious skit depicting how all the committee chairs grew up as children and how they came to be, ending the night and kicking off the semester with smiles on everyone’s faces.
